Synopsis: The photocell is responsible for controlling the brightness of your equipment. If ever you are having brightness issues, it could be linked to a faulty photocell. Each unit has 2 photocells. They can be located on the outside of the sign case, inside the sign case, on the solar panel junction box, or on the back of the message board.

1. Log in to the V-Touch controller and press Toggle, then Options, then Maintenance

2. To test the photocells, use a flashlight, shine it directly into the photocells, and press Start again
2.1. After shining light directly into the photocell, the percentage should start raising.
2.2. If photocell still fails, it is defective
2.3. Do this test one photocell at a time, it will also let you know which sensor is #1 and #2
3. Verify photocell wiring on the communication card, the wires will be located on pins 5 & 6, or directly on the communication card. Look for PH+ & PH-, or PH1 & PH2

Note: If all tests are done right and connections are secure, and you are still seeing a photocell error, you will need to purchase a new photocell and replace the defective one.
If you still wish to keep using your message board, you can change the brightness from automatic to manual in the touch screen options.
