Figure 2 - Digi IX30 Overview
1. Check if there are LED indicators on the modem (mainly power)
Figure 3 - LED indicators
2. Make sure the SIM card is in the SIM 1 slot
Note: On the WR-31 modem, you must unscrew the compartment where the SIM is located to insert or replace it.
Figure 4 - SIM slot
3. Once the SIM card is inserted, ensure that the LTE LED is solid blue, this indicates that the modem & SIM are communicating
3.1. If the Service light is not on or flashing, there could be an issue with either the SIM card or the modem. To locate the issue, take a known working SIM card and try it on the modem having the issue.
3.2. If the working SIM card works on this modem, the original SIM card is bad.
3.3. If the working SIM card also fails on the modem, the original modem is bad.
4. If the SIM card is OK & LTE LED is solid blue, make sure the Ethernet cable is plugged from WAN/ETH to ETH 0 on the back of the touch screen
Note: The Ethernet cable must always connect to the port on the right-hand side of the touch screen when you are looking at the back of it

5. If the Ethernet cable is well connected, confirm that the GPS & LTE wires are well secured on the correct terminals

6. Make sure the internal IP settings inside the touch screen are correct
Note: By logging into the touch screen and going to Toggle – Parameters – Comm. Parameters, you will be able to validate the internal IP, mask, gateway & DNS of the touch screen. It should be set to DCHP (automatic) or static (manual), and the settings should be like the ones below.
You can ignore the MAC of the photo below.
