Synopsis: In JamLogic, you may encounter a yellow icon indicating a GPS error. There are different factors that could cause this issue, from the deployment of the unit to the communication settings.
- Level: Easy
- Time required: Will vary depending on experience
- Additional equipment required: None
1. Make sure the equipment is outside and deployed without any obstacles above
If your Ver-Mac equipment is indoors or deployed under obstacles such as trees, underpasses, or buildings, the GPS will not communicate.
2. Check the antennas on your modem

3. Log into the touch screen and confirm the right modem type is selected by going to Toggle - Options - Modem

4. Ensure your communication settings are correctly set to the type of modem you have
Note: By double-clicking on your unit, you will open the communication settings. Scroll to the bottom for the GPS options.
- For external modems, you will set the modem type to your corresponding modem (Ex.: Digi, Sierra), then change the GPS source to modem. You will also need to enter the login (Admin) & password (444444)
- For integrated modems, leave the GPS source to Device

- For new Digi IX30 modems, use the following settings:
- Login: VermacReader, Password: vmReader-444444

If all of the above have been checked and you are still having GPS errors, it could be caused by a faulty antenna or a defective GPS module in the modem. The first recommended step would be to try swapping out the antenna.
